EXperimentations in VIBrations and ACoustics

The Jacques-Cartier Acoustics Centre (CAJC), a Franco-Canadian International Research Project (IRP), is organizing a cutting-edge school on the topic of experimental measurement in vibrations and acoustics. This school is primarily open to doctoral students, but also to postdoctoral researchers. Registration is free, but space is limited.

The school will be held at the "Laboratoire Vibrations Acoustique" of INSA Lyon from September 15 to 17, 2026. It will be structured around lectures and keynote speeches, as well as experimental workshops that will allow participants to conduct their own experiments.

Seven 4-hour workshops are offered:
  • Experimental modal analysis
  • Full-field measurements by laser vibrometry
  • Acoustic antennas in a semi-anechoic chamber
  • Acoustic power measurement in a reverberation room and in a semi-anechoic chamber
  • Characterization of acoustic level reduction solutions (absorbent materials, Helmholtz resonators)
  • Vibration measurements using PVDF film and piezoelectric sensors
  • Nondestructive testing (ultrasound)
Registered participants must attend 3 of the 7 workshops offered.

Registration will open on April 20th.
